Individual Therapy

I collaborate with people to help them attune to their already innate wisdom and essential selves.

This process allows for clients to recognize and build upon their individual strengths, in order to befriend various parts of themselves that may carry protective, yet limiting, beliefs and behaviors.

My approach is relational, compassionate, and culturally affirming. I service various groups of people including, but not limited to; adults, young adults and children (ages 8-16). I’m trained in and enjoy applying modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), also known as ‘parts work’, attachment style theory, as well as psychodynamic modalities.

Let everything happen to you, beauty and terror, just keep going. No feeling is final.

Couples Therapy

When working with clients in partnerships (whether couples, family, friends, or others), my approach offers space for exploration, initially stemming from the self, and subsequently branching out into the relationship with others.

With some guidance in a safe non-judgmental environment, clients may begin to clarify underlying attachment styles, habitual patterns and the way that these dynamics may affect their relationships. In this collaboration, the couple is invited to cultivate connection, deepen awareness, and discover artful and effective ways of communication.

Psychedelic Therapy
Preparation & Integration

My work entails supporting people before and after their independent use of entheogen and plant medicines, such as psilocybin, ayahuasca, or MDMA.

Psychedelic-assisted therapy, once practiced extensively before the 1970s, is now a re-emerging kind of therapy in the Western world.

This kind of work entails plant and empathogenic medicines, including psilocybin, MDMA, ketamine and LSD – in conjunction with the caring guidance and framing of a psychotherapist.

Psychedelic-assisted therapy is known for treating conditions such as addiction, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with effective outcomes, where other more conventional interventions have often fallen short. For many, this treatment can also be a catalyst towards profound personal transformation, deep spiritual awakening, and all-encompassing healing.

Preparation

The process around preparation entails supporting a person before they embark on an independent plant, or empathogenic medicine journey.

Preparation sessions often encourage the space for early self-reflection in order to prime the mind, body and heart to receive any messages, insights, or teachings that may lie ahead. This may include guidance around intention setting, psycho-education and supportive practices such as meditation, breathwork or guided visualization.

Integration

Integration, which occurs after the journey, is an intentional process in which a person may revisit the profound insights, feelings and visions encountered during the medicine space.

The process around integration can foster resonant ways in which the person may anchor some of these emergent experiences into their day-to-day life.

I offer a psychological assessment in order to determine whether a person considering engaging in psychedelic medicine would be a good candidate for the work.

Worthy of note is this kind of therapy may not be for everyone and proper assessment is very important.

Please note that I do not supply medicines, facilitate medicine journeys, nor am I able to refer people to facilitators that do.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

During a Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) session, clients receive a dose of ketamine via lozenges while in a safe, comfortable and professionally supervised setting. The medicine may take effect within the first hour, or so and last about three hours approximately. Towards the tail end of a session and with the therapist’s support, clients are offered the option to process any and all insights received during the experience.

Music for
Altered States

In the psychedelic therapy space, music can serve as a playful alley, innate therapist and gentle guide.

The Nature of Music

Music is a divine, sacred and universal vibration capable of transcending cultural, linguistic and societal barriers.

As a powerful series of sound waves, music has the ability to affect our state of being and feeling, as we ourselves are vibratory in nature. For some, music can evoke and amplify a wide spectrum of emotion, transport the listener to a particular memory and, or induce deeper states of relaxation and nervous system regulation.

In many cases, and depending on the set, setting, as well as the listener’s relationship to the music, a piece, or well curated playlist may have the power to elevate spiritual awareness, unlock material that lies dormant in the unconscious mind and support a person’s exploration into higher states of consciousness.

The Use of Music in the
Medicine Space

In psychedelic therapy, or upon entering a solo experience with either plant or entheogen medicines, music can serve as a powerful ally and supportive companion.

One of the primary intentions of music within the psychedelic therapy experience entails the framing, or holding, of sonic space for those partaking in the medicine.

Often referred to as ‘the silent therapist’, music can have a variety of innate therapeutic properties. It can serve as a supportive presence in the room to help amplify a person’s insights, teachings, and discoveries. For some, music in conjunction with the medicine can also assist a person’s attunement to their body, in exploring where certain memories and locked emotions may live, and how they may want to be released.

Music curation in the psychedelic therapy space typically entails intentionally crafted playlists, or guided musical experiences, that aim to mirror the energy arch of the medicines being used.

Some of the elements worth considering in curating music in conjunction with a medicine are genre, instrumentation, lyrical material and seamless transitions between songs. When these elements are thoughtfully organized and in communication with both medicine and a person’s journeying, an opportunity to unlock material presents itself.
